Biography:
Shoma Khanom has been serving as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. She is also the Acting Counselor of the IEEE ISTT Student Branch. She completed her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Institute of Information Technology, Jahangirnagar University.

Shoma received a merit scholarship from Jahangirnagar University for outstanding academic performance from the 1st to the 4th year. She was also awarded a Fellowship by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh for her M.Sc. thesis program titled “Developing an Approach for Multi-Party Interaction Using Contextual Information” in 2015–16.

She previously worked as a lecturer at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), delivering courses on Office Applications and Unicode Bangla under WID (for women only). Shoma is a trustworthy and hardworking professional with over nine years of teaching experience. She has strong expertise in training and research.

Human–Computer Interaction, Data Mining, Computer Vision, Operating Systems, Wearable Technology, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and IoT.
